It is so nice to see that brooches are increasing in popularity as they are one of the most versatile pieces of jewellery you could have. ABOUT THIS BROOCH Constructed from solid 9ct gold (375 parts per 1000) Fully UK old style assay marked and x-ray tested. Dates to late 19th Century c1890s Features a highly detailed hand painted portrait of a loving couple in a garden. Amazing detail and a real piece of class. Fastens with a silver hinge pin and C hook clasp - all in good order. Condition is good, especially considering its age. Height is 30.6mm. Width is 25.2 mm. It sits 10.5 mm proud. Weight is 6 grams (rounded up to nearest, as if that is relevant) You would expect to pay between £750 and £1,500 for a brooch like this at a fancy antique jeweller, depending on your ability to hunt down a bargain. CONDITION REPORT Many of my brooches are VERY old and have some signs of this. I ensure they are fully operational and can be worn from arrival but I do not like polishing them to "as new" because I feel this detracts from their history. I will consider doing so, for a small fee, if you ask nicely ;-) I guarantee all items to be as described and will accept a return on anything you are not happy with.
