A classic Leach Pottery tankard, thrown in heavy stoneware with a softly tapering form and generous handle. The glaze is a rich, earthy blend of grey-green and iron tones, pooling and breaking naturally around the rim and base — exactly the kind of quiet surface depth Leach Pottery is known for. The handle has a pleasing weight and a small curled terminal at the lower join, a detail often seen on functional Leach forms. The interior is glazed in a pale, clean tone, making it practical as well as handsome. The base shows clear throwing rings and the impressed Leach mark, grounding it firmly in the St Ives tradition.
