1950’s top quality handmade German wool peasant sweater that was “preppie Midcentury fashion” in the 1950’s for after ski, ski lodge or around the hearth fashion. No stains or rips. Central zipper makes this a cardigan. Zip pull may be polished by the buyer since it’s lightly tarnished (shown on photos), but this “age patina” is most valuable if you leave it as it is. This is collectible fashion that will get more valuable over time as long as the sweater stays usable. Fits a Small Lady. Mid to heavy weight for those chilly days. Handknit (Handarbeit) in Western Germany. No size tag but fits to size 6 US for a lady. It’s unisex, so it would be an extra small for a man or small for a teen. Notice all the random colors in the overall tan knit. PORATH & MAHNEHEIM was a high end luxury boutique in New York City from the 1920’s to the 1960’s.
